Welcome to Grade 1!
It is with great pleasure for me to extend a warm welcome to our Grade 1 families. The Grade 1 class is a place where we create new friendships, gain a deeper understanding of our Catholic faith and strengthen your child’s literacy and numeracy skills.
Parents are children’s prime educators. I hope to work collaboratively with parents in order to help educate your child in many areas. Through the foundation of a Catholic Education, my goal is to develop your child’s inner strength and confidence in order for your child to learn, grow and tackle any challenges that come along. Together, we can help your child learn and practice personal and social responsibilities, self-control and self-discipline.
The Grade 1 classroom is a very busy place. With the wide range of abilities and interests, each child is challenged to work to the best of his/her abilities. We create a classroom where we show respect, care for and listen to one another and work in a positive and cooperative working environment. The children are also expected to show independence in caring for their personal belongings and to help clean up their space and the classroom.
