Morning Prayer – June

Leader: O God, come to my assistance.

All: O Lord, make haste to help me.

Leader: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

All: As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end, Amen.

Leader: Let us begin our day by thanking God for his goodness to us. Think of one or two things you are thankful for and thank God silently in your heart.

(Pause)

All: Blessed be the Lord,

    for he has heard the sound of my pleadings.

    The Lord is my strength and my shield;

    in him my heart trusts;

    so I am helped, and my heart exults,

    and with my song I give thanks to him.

    The Lord is the strength of his people;

    he is the saving refuge of his anointed.

    O save your people, and bless your heritage;

    be their shepherd, and carry them forever.

Leader: Let us praise the Lord.

All: Thanks be to God.

PRAYER FOR THE PARISH CENTRE

Heavenly Father, we give you all praise and glory!

We know that without You, we can do nothing.

You know our great need for a parish centre, in order that we can fulfill Your mission of making disciples for Christ. 

May the  construction work be guided by Your hands, and proceed safely, efficiently and without hindrance. 

We place these petitions into the hands of our mother Mary and our spiritual father, St. Joseph, and ask this in the Holy Spirit, through Christ our Lord. 

Amen.

Gospel Reading for June 28, 2026

Matthew 10:37-42

Jesus said to his apostles:
“Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me,
and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;
and whoever does not take up his cross
and follow after me is not worthy of me.
Whoever finds his life will lose it,
and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”

"Whoever receives you receives me,
and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.
Whoever receives a prophet because he is a prophet
will receive a prophet’s reward,
and whoever receives a righteous man
because he is a righteous man
will receive a righteous man’s reward.
And whoever gives only a cup of cold water
to one of these little ones to drink
because the little one is a disciple—
amen, I say to you, he will surely not lose his reward.”
