ABOUT THE SCHOOL GYM - PARISH CENTRE

The St. Anthony of Padua School Gym - Parish Centre Campaign is a redevelopment project driven by the efforts of our parishioners and school families, and is now within reach. The project has two primary goals: to build a seismically upgraded school extension and to provide a space for our growing parish ministries. Achieving these goals will ensure that St. Anthony can continue its mission and better serve the South Vancouver Catholic community, providing our school and parish with much needed amenities, including: • A full size gymnasium • A multipurpose room • A stage for performances • Additional classrooms

CAMPAIGN SUMMARY & LATEST UPDATES

Our parish and school families have worked tirelessly to raise funds for our School Gym - Parish Centre. As of December 2024, we have raised $7.26M and counting! Our most recent fundraiser, The Banquet held in November 2024, was our most successful event to date, raising over $750K. It was followed by our inaugural Christmas Market a few weeks later, and a highly successful School Walkathon in May. We have come a long way since the start of our fundraising efforts. The St. Anthony of Padua Parish and School Community is blessed with members who continue to work ardently to ensure the success in the building of our School Gym - Parish Centre. There is no doubt, with God’s good grace and the unfailing dedication of our community members and school families we can continue to meet every goal along the way. As always, we truly thank you for your generosity and continued support!

We reached a significant milestone - on August 1, 2025, we officially broke ground! It was a memorable ceremonial event, as parishioners and school families came together to witness this historic moment.

The City of Vancouver approved our Building Permit in June 2025 and preparations for construction began shortly after. We officially broke ground on August 1, 2025 and are well underway with the construction. Completion of the SGPC will take approximately 18 months.
The cost of the School Gym - Parish Centre is approximately $13.1M. While we have raised over half of this amount, our fundraising efforts continue and welcome any support you can offer.
Our parish and school work closely together to support the School Gym - Parish Centre Campaign Project which is led by our pastor, Father Justin. Our Building Committee oversees the project and budgeted construction costs passed to the Archdiocese for final approval. We are working with Kuntjoro Architecture Inc. to build our centre. Our Fundraising Committee, led by Patrick May, oversees all fundraising activities including our annual Fundraising Banquet.
The success of the School Gym - Parish Centre project depends on investment and involvement from the greater St. Anthony community who plays a significant role in making this dream a reality. We encourage and welcome all members of the St. Anthony community and extended Vancouver Catholic Community to consider supporting the Campaign at a level within their means. This is an opportunity to invest in our future generations by redefining elementary Catholic education in Marpole, Vancouver. The support we give will help build our school and strengthen our community by ensuring St. Anthony of Padua can continue its mission of Building Tomorrow’s Leaders Today.
While your son or daughter may no longer be a student at St. Anthony of Padua School, our new School Gym - Parish Centre will be a gathering place for our Catholic community events and we encourage and invite your family to be a part of it. St. Anthony of Padua School has grown to become a school that provides excellent Catholic and academic education, within the Archdiocese of Vancouver. In joint efforts with those before us, it is now our turn and opportunity to help the incoming generations of students by investing in the future of St. Anthony and our Marpole Catholic community.
The vision for our School Gym - Parish Centre is to enhance its role as the community gathering place for the St. Anthony Community, especially since St. Anthony’s is the only Catholic elementary school in Marpole, Vancouver. As the largest project to date within our St. Anthony Catholic community, we invite you to consider various ways to support our mission. Contributions can be made through a variety of financial options, including one-time, monthly, or annual donations via cash, automatic installments, or credit card payments. You may also choose to leave a legacy through gifts in kind, bequests, capital asset transfers, annuities, or life insurance policies. All contributions will be acknowledged.
