Our parish has played a significant role in assisting the school’s project planning and implementation. The parish supported the school in various capacities. Building Committee: This committee oversees the project and budgeted construction costs passed to the Archdiocese for final approval. Fundraising Committee: This committee oversees the fundraising activities, including organizing fund-raising events, and collecting of donations.
The success of the Parish Centre project depends on investment and involvement from the greater St. Anthony community – St. Anthony alumni, income and current families, staff, parishioners, and the Vancouver Catholic Community – all must play a significant role in making this dream a reality. The Campaign will be actively seeking major gifts and pledges; however, it is paramount that the Campaign is widely supported with a spirit of equal sacrifice. We encourage all members of the St. Anthony community and extended Vancouver Catholic Community to consider supporting the Campaign at a level within their means. This is an opportunity to invest in our future generations by redefining elementary Catholic education in Marpole, Vancouver. The support we give will help build our school and strengthen our community by ensuring St. Anthony of Padua can continue its mission of Building Tomorrow’s Leader’s Today.
Established under the Archdiocese of Vancouver in 1942, families in Marpole Vancouver and Richmond have benefited from having St. Anthony of Padua’s providing elementary Catholic education for nearly 80 years. Thanks to the numerous determined people over the years, who acted when they were called upon, St. Anthony has grown to become a school that provides excellent Catholic and academic education, within the Archdiocese of Vancouver, being ranked annually among the highest in BC in recent years. In joint efforts with those before us, it is now our turn and opportunity to help the incoming generations of students by investing in the future of St. Anthony and our Marpole Catholic community.
St. Anthony is the only Catholic elementary school in Marpole, Vancouver, and thus, provides principal assistance to parents and families in fulfilling the function of Christian education for their children. As faithful Christians, we must hold schools in esteem and recognize the vital role of education as a pillar within our Catholic community. It is St. Anthony of Padua himself that said “Charity is the soul of faith, makes it alive; without love, faith dies.” We are called now to build up our schools and maintain them according to our individual means. Through our St. Anthony Capital Campaign, we are looking to build a school and strengthen our community. Moving forward, the vision for St. Anthony of Padua is to enhance its role as the community gathering place for the St. Anthony Community, including School Families and Parishioners – becoming the Catholic educational and recreational hub for all facets of the Vancouver and neighbouring Richmond Catholic community.
Being the larges capital project to date within our St. Anthony Catholic community, there are many considerations to make as you contemplate supporting St. Anthony of Padua through the Campaign. In order for the Campaign to succeed, various types of support will need to be realized and gift types range from one-time gifts to gifts pledged over a 3 year period. Gifts can be made through a wide range of financial vehicles, including cash, automatic monthly installments, credit card payments or the transfer of stocks and mutual funds. Other types of gifts include gifts in kind or leaving your legacy in the form of a bequest, capital asset transfer, annuity or life insurance policy. All types of contributions will be recognized with major gifts eligible for commemorative naming. For more information on how to make your gift, please contact the Director of our School Capital Campaign, Ali Cameron, at 604-719-7393, or leave us a note at [email protected].
