Learn From Me (Mt.11:29)

In Chapter 11 verse 29 of Matthew’s gospel Jesus gives the following direction to his disciples. “Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” At Saint Anthony of Padua School, Jesus is our teacher and our goal throughout each day is to learn from Him.  Our motto is taken from this verse “Discite a Me” (Learn from Me). Our English word “learn” comes from the Latin verb “discere” from which the English word “disciple” also comes. We are disciples (learners) of Christ!
